What is Laugh Alive?
Laugh Alive is a group of playful yet dynamic laughter-based or Laughter Yoga-based sessions and workshops perfect for team-building, well-being events and hen parties. Choose shorter, impactful, dynamic laughter sessions or more detailed and lengthier workshops introducing some of our other skills and methods, such as connected breath-work and positive psychology.
Our Laugh Alive events deliver group communication and connection in a completely new way, releasing stress and always offering up a right old chuckle! A Laugh Alive workshop is the perfect leveller and bonds groups, teams and individuals from all walks of life, ages and cultures.
We offer a wide range of breakout sessions, corporate well-being events, team-building events, workshops and retreats and just like our other events they can be tailored to your specific needs. We work with corporate businesses, health organisations and mental health groups, right the way through to schools and hen parties across the UK!
How will it benefit me?
We have years of experience working with people who laugh and people who don't! It is now widely known that you can laugh your way to greater health and fitness. The laughter exercises are quirky, fun and a great stress-buster, stimulating the respiratory, circulatory, digestive and muscular systems. One of the most prominent laughter researchers, Dr William Fry, suggests that 100 laughs a day are equivalent to 10 minutes of rowing or jogging. Laughter gives your brain a break and leaves you feeling mentally and physically refreshed. You will leave your session focused, connected to your group and far more productive.
What to expect
The Laughter Gym involves stretching, laughter warm-ups, breathing, movement and playful, guided interaction with your group. We use Laughter Yoga to release stress, break down barriers, induce a state of relaxation, spontaneous laughter and a low-physical but dynamic experience for the whole body system. Our laughter meditation is hilarious and often the most favourite part! All packages are created for a minimum of 6 people with no maximum, so as many as the venue holds!
The Laughter Gym - 30/45mins/1hr - Playful and progressive build-up of stress-busting laughter exercises, culminating our well-loved laughter meditation. Includes Laughter Yoga, stress-busting, energising, playful–fitness, breathing, health tools, relaxation. Popular with all groups.
Laugh Alive Workshops - 1.5/2hrs + 1/2 day - Lengthier Laugh Alive workshops incorporate a Laughter Gym/Laughter Yoga session. Also includes a mix of interactive discussions on laughter, humour and health, Positive Psychology exercises, energetic breathing, creative group play, laughing games and techniques and laughter tools to take away. The Laugh Alive Workshop lends itself to corporate events, away days, staff training and staff well-being days.
Mindful Laughter - 1/1.5hrs - An interactive, dynamic laughter and breath-work session. Designed to release tension completely from the body. Our laughter and mindfulness approach focuses you experientially in the moment. It is light-hearted yet rich in meaning and deep in release and laughter that focuses you completely in the present.
Schools & Teaching Organisations - 1/1.5hrs - An interactive, learning experience about the benefits of laughter for health, confidence and happiness. Our approach is playful but geared towards understanding laughter as a serious business and a life skill. Learn how laughter, humour and comedy are different. Learn how to use laughter respectfully and for everyday therapeutic use and stress release. This is fun with a purpose for school children and teachers alike.
